From Messiah - George Frideric Handel (1741)
1. And The Glory
2. Glory To God
3. He Trusted In God
Glory To God and And The Glory are two choruses from Handel's most famous oratorio - Messiah. Both are declarations of God's ultimate glory and power, which were revealed through the birth of His only begotten Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
He Trusted In God is a reminder of Jesus' complete trust in His Father as He faced His ultimate sacrifice for us on the cross. Undeserving as we are, Christ still willingly died for us. It is also a reminder for us to always put our own trust in Him.
For The Beauty Of The Earth (Folliot S Pierpoint, John Rutter)
The lyrics to this joyful hymn of praise were first published in 1864. Pierpoint was taking a walk one late spring day in the lovely area surrounding his home in Bath, England, when he was overwhelmed by the beauty he saw. Not only does Pierpoint thank God for the beauty of nature, but also for family, friends and other gifts God has bestowed among us. This piece set to the music of John Rutter is a reminder for us to count our many blessings and name them one by one.
Because He Lives (Sally DeFord)
Jesus' triumph on the cross means no matter what challenges come along on our journey of faith, we will overcome with His guiding hand. We proudly declare with utmost conviction that our Saviour Christ lives! Praise Be To God!
